Our Mission Statement
Alger Parks and Rec is a public, charitable, non-profit 501c3, formed in January 2012. We exist to:
Provide programs, special events, and facilities to stimulate the
socialization, safety, good health and the physical development of the
individual and family, as related to the needs and interests of our

Our goal is to not only to provide yearly events such as the
Easter Egg Hunt, Alger Ball (t-ball/softball/baseball), Moffatt Township
Food Baskets, Trunk or Treat and the Children’s Christmas Party, but also to
upgrade our parks, with the addition of playground and sporting equipment.
biggest fundraiser of the year is Music in the Park, which provides
necessary support via gate sales, food, refreshments, beer and wine, and of
course our wonderful raffle items kindly donated by local area businesses.
Secondly, we also rely on personal donations from generous individuals and
corporations, and pursuing available grants in order to fulfill our funding
Finally yet importantly, we rely on you, our
volunteers, to make every venture a success –
it’s all a community effort!
